Design at Source provided a mould braking concept at Genting Casino, Derby, providing state of the art gaming set within a warm and inviting interior. Genting Casino, Derby, provides a true entertainment venue within a casino setting.
This was Design at Source’s first, casino development for Genting Casinos UK. Genting Casinos asked Design at Source back, to rationalise and rejuvenate the casino interior, as well as incorporate a second gaming license to the space.
On entering the casino at ground floor level, the customer is now welcomed by an elegant reception area. Sparkling, feature pendants indicate the beginning of the customer journey to the first floor. A gold chain, curtain wraps around the pendants, drawing the customers eye up and enticing them towards their final destination at first floor level. The introduction of escalators, from the ground floor, to the flying mezzanine and up to the first floor, make the customer journey all the quicker.
At first floor level, the customer is greeted by an elegant, horse-shoe shaped bar, providing the centre piece to the space.
A flexible entertainment zone, complete with stage, flows from the bar area, whilst a restaurant is located to one side of the bar, over-looking the gaming floor.
The use of cantilevered timber structures, sailing over and wrapping around the restaurant, gives an intimate setting to the dining area, whilst still giving tantilising views of the gaming floor.
