Design at Source were proud to bring the iconic Marbella brand back to its passionate British clientelle, with La Sala’s first, UK site.
Balancing the well loved design queues of sunnier climes to a colder climate may have proved a challenge. However, through a process of listening, observing, bringing in new ideas and working closely with the client, the studio ensured a modern, successful finished project, bringing a touch of paradise to the UK.
The La Sala brand was already well known and loved for its innovative business model, combining dining and cocktails, with entertainment. Design at Source worked cloesly with the client to ensure this translated to their latest site.
A finishing kitchen, located on the ground floor, provided a theatrcial back drop to an island, bar servery, providing a visual reminder to those at the bar, that quality food was on offer.
The bar provided the beating heart of La Sala, sitting within a double-height space and facing a small stage and dance floor area. The Design at Source team created a bar design that enhanced the drama of the flamboyant, mixologists, that used it.
Above the bar, the team located a private dining room, looking over the bar and dance floor; a private room to see and be seen in.
A Spanish inspired, be-spoke, floor design, with dark timber planks, framing stone effect tiles, was laid throughout the scheme.
Playful design cues were implemented throughout the venue to evoke that mediterranean, holiday spirit. Washed pebbles were inlaid into illuminated, show cases which were recessed into the floor, while a back illuminated glass panel in front of the bar, gave that aqua-sea, beach vibe.
Even the existing basment was utilisied, providing a party, dining experience. An authentic wine cellar theme was created. Metal bars provided the boundary of the private dining area, complete with walls adorned with famous wine regions and brands.
